My MUN Journey
Ever since I joined my first Model United Nations conference in 9th grade, MUN has become one of the most inspiring parts of my academic and personal growth. What started as simple curiosity soon turned into a deep passion for diplomacy, global issues, and the art of negotiation.
Through MUN, I’ve learned how to think critically, speak confidently, and collaborate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Each conference has challenged me to research complex international topics, understand multiple perspectives, and develop creative solutions to real-world problems.
MUN has not only improved my public speaking and leadership skills but also shaped the way I view the world — as a place where dialogue, empathy, and cooperation can drive meaningful change.
As I continue to attend more conferences and take on new roles, I aim to further develop my understanding of international relations and contribute to discussions that matter.
What is MUN?
MUN stands for Model United Nations, which is a simulation of the United Nations at the student level. Delegates are selected from various schools, and each student represents certain countries and subcommittees of the United Nations. The conferences are conducted in English, and they include committees found in the United Nations.
