SDG Youth Leadershıp Program Started

by Engin Ekim 7, 2025

We successfully held the inaugural meeting of the ‘SÜGEP’ program, acting as the youth representatives for the environment for our region.

The initial session was a great success; it provided essential information about the program’s objectives and included several engaging ice-breaking and team-building activities to help everyone connect and get to know each other.

MEB’s New Rule on AP Exams: Only for Enrolled Students

by Engin Ekim 3, 2025

The Turkish Ministry of Education (MEB) has recently introduced a new rule that changes how AP (Advanced Placement) exams are organized in Türkiye. Until now, students whose schools did not offer an AP program could register to take the exams at another accredited school. With the new regulation, this will no longer be possible.

What Changed?

From now on, accredited schools are only allowed to organize AP exams for their own enrolled students. This means that students from outside these schools cannot take the exam there, even if the school has College Board authorization.

What Does It Mean for Students?

This decision may cause challenges, especially for students who study AP subjects through private courses or schools without an AP program. In the past, they could still take the exams at a different accredited school. Now:

  • Limited access: Only students of accredited schools will sit for the exams.
  • Pressure on schools: Every school that offers AP may need to become its own exam center.
  • Uncertainty for outsiders: It is not yet clear how students outside these schools will take the exams in the future.

What About Public Schools?

At the moment, this rule does not apply to public schools. Students in public schools can still take the AP exams at another public exam center. However, questions remain about students who prepare for AP through courses but are not enrolled in AP schools.

Looking Ahead

The new rule aims to standardize exam practices, but it also creates uncertainty. Some ask whether MEB might one day create its own central exam centers for all AP students. For now, families and students need to follow the updates closely and plan their AP journey more carefully.

Copernıcus Project

by Engin Ekim 3, 2025

Eyes Watching the Earth

Have you ever wondered if we could protect our planet better by watching it from space? The European Union’s Copernicus Project is doing exactly that!

This project uses special satellites called Sentinels to observe Earth from above. They monitor the atmosphere, oceans, forests, and even mountains. Thanks to this system, floods can be predicted earlier, forest fires can be spotted quickly, and farming can become more efficient.

One of the most important parts: Open Data!
All the information collected by Copernicus is free for anyone to use. That means a scientist, a student, or even a startup can access this data and create something new. For example:

  • A student could use it for a school project on climate change,
  • A company could plan smarter irrigation for crops,
  • Environmental groups could track ocean pollution.

Because of this open data policy, Copernicus helps not only Europe but the entire world.

In the end, the Copernicus Project shows us something powerful: data from space is not just science fiction—it shapes our real lives every day. And since it’s open to everyone, it’s not only for governments but also for people like us. Who knows? Maybe one day you’ll use this data to create a project that helps change the world!
